About the Caucus

The Future of American Media (FAM) Caucus is a Congressional Member Organization composed of Representatives who believe that an accountable, diverse, independent and vibrant media system is critical for the future of American democracy. Members of the Caucus also believe that full public participation is necessary for the development of any responsible media policies. The Caucus is open to Members of both parties and it neither endorses nor opposes any particular industry stakeholder.

As Congress prepares to rewrite laws that will shape media in America for the next two decades, the Future of American Media Caucus will educate and inform Members and staff about these issues and how they will impact constituents.

There is no issue more central to the future of a functioning democracy than how Americans receive information and this new Caucus will make sure media policy issues are front and center in the minds of Members.
