Internships

Internships are available in my Washington, D.C. and District Offices.

WASHINGTON:

In Washington, internships run throughout the summer semester for college students only. Your work day will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for a four-week period. In Washington, interns' responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, and help give tours of the Capitol for visiting constituents. You will also have the opportunity to attend many social gatherings and events organized for interns and immerse yourself in the cultural and historical attractions of Washington, D.C. There is no better way to learn how government works than to experience it first hand.

DISTRICT:

In my Knoxville district office, interns may be asked to do a variety of things from answering phones to assisting my staff on projects. I am in the Knoxville office almost every week, and you’ll get to play an active roll in directly serving the people of the 2nd district. If you are interested in serving as an intern in my district or Washington, D.C. offices, please send your resume and a cover letter to:

Congressman John Duncan, Jr.
Attention: District Representative
800 Market Street, Suite 110
Knoxville, TN 37902
