Touring Local Aerospace Manufacturer

3 February 2004

This afternoon, U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee toured Korry Electronics Company. Korry Electronics manufactures the air traffic control displays used by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Recently, Members of Congress from Connecticut have been urging the FAA to stop using Korry Electronic’s products in favor of air traffic control displays manufactured in Connecticut. U.S. Reps. Jay Inslee and Rick Larsen wrote a letter to the FAA in an effort to preempt the Connecticut delegation’s attempts to steer the FAA away from Korry Electronic’s products.

The company is located on the south end of Lake Union, and it employs about 550 people, many of whom live in the First Congressional District.
