Service Academy Appointments

U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee announced today that he has nominated twenty-five Washington State students to the United States service academies for the U.S. Air Force, Merchant Marines, Military and Navy. Each member of Congress is allotted a limited number of nominations, which they may submit for consideration of an appointment by the academy to fill vacancies at each institution. To be nominated by U.S. Rep. Inslee, applicants must be interviewed by a panel at Inslee's office that includes graduates from the different service academies

Lynnwood Schools Receive Grant

Two Lynnwood high schools are receiving a joint one-year planning grant of $99,868 to study how smaller learning communities might improve the educational experience of their students. Lynnwood High School and Meadowdale High School, both part of the Edmonds School District in Washington State, will split the grant, which allows large high schools to plan how to make their school environment more personalized through the use of smaller learning communities.

Visiting Shorewood High School
