Government Accountability and Fiscal Responsibility

Our national debt has skyrocketed to over $9 trillion, which equals more than $30,000 for every adult and child in America. Since coming to Washington, I have made fiscal responsibility a top priority, and have worked to bring accountability and fiscal sanity to Washington.

I serve on the House Financial Services Committee and am a member of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Caucus. As a member of the Blue Dogs, I have focused on reducing the debt through institution of pay-as-you-go budget rules and other measures, increased government accountability and transparency, and performance measurement.
