Boozman Honored for Fighting Illegal Immigration

House Seal Outline

Washington, Oct 23 -

U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) today was named a Top Ten Republican in the House of Representatives by Numbers USA for his efforts to reduce illegal immigration.

“I will continue to seek reforms of our immigration laws and make sure they are being enforced,” Boozman said. “We must do more to hold illegal immigrants and employers who hire them accountable for breaking our laws.”

This recognition is based on actions in the 109th and 110th Congresses that include votes on the House Floor, in committee and cosponsorships of bills that would affect immigration numbers.

During the 110th Congress Boozman cosponsored H.R. 4088, the SAVE Act, that provides immigration reform by securing America's borders, clarifying and enforcing existing laws, and enabling a practical employer verification program. Boozman signed a Discharge Petition to try to force the Speaker of the House to call a vote on this important piece of legislation that Numbers USA lists as the most important action to reduce illegal immigration taken this year.
