Help With an Agency

One of the most important jobs I have as a Member of Congress is to assist constituents of Florida’s 12th Congressional District when they have a problem that involves a federal agency. PLEASE NOTE: To avoid possible delays due to high e-mail volume, please call my district office directly if you need timely assistance with federal matters such as federal income tax, immigration, Social Security, Veterans Administration.  You may reach my district office at 863-534-3530 or toll free at 866-534-3530.  Below are some tips when you are seeking help from my office:

Step One: Determine if I can help.

Areas I Can Help With:

I can help constituents navigate federal departments including the Social Security Administration, the Internal Revenue Service, and Veterans Affairs.

Often, constituents can receive an answer or resolve their problems by contacting a federal agency or by visiting its web site. Click on the appropriate agency for more information:

As a federal officeholder, I do not have the authority to assist or intervene on state, local, or judicial matters. These issues include:

  • Child support
  • Motor vehicle registration
  • Property taxes
  • Florida state taxes

Please contact your state or local official for additional guidance on these matters.

Step Two: Gather All Relevant Material

Complete a privacy release form (PDF). Under the Privacy Act of 1974, I am required to obtain your written permission before I or a member of my staff can contact anyone on your behalf.

Gather all necessary supporting documents. These documents should support your case and may include letters from the agency, applicable case numbers, and other forms and correspondence relating to your problem. Please do not provide original copies of documentation or supporting materials.

Step Three: Contact my district office.
