Pryce Announces Agreement Reached
in Hilliard Post Office Renovations

Columbus, Ohio – Today, Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (R-Columbus) announced that an agreement has been reached over the future plans of the Hilliard Post Office’s Leap Road facility.

Pryce has worked to facilitate meetings among post office and local elected officials, including State Representative Larry Wolpert who represents Hilliard, to determine how the Leap Road facility might best accommodate Hilliard’s growing business and residential clientele. Currently, traffic along Leap Road during peak hours has become problematic for both the post office and motorists, and the growth of the community has outpaced the facility’s size and capabilities.

In the final agreement, the Post Office has agreed to enhance and improve the parking lot, address the area’s traffic congestion issues, and reconfigure and renovate the lobby. In addition, the post office announced it will add a new mail station to accommodate the increase in a growing customer base.

“This is wonderful news for the City of Hilliard,” said Pryce. “In many ways, the local post office remains the economic hub of any city or town, and must grow and evolve along with the community it serves. I was happy to have helped facilitate a solution in this matter, and I am pleased to see the solution reached through the benefit of local input and expertise.”

Hilliard Mayor Don Schonhardt was also appreciative of the announcement, saying, “No public institution is more representative of a community than its local post office. As our community has grown, so too has our need for expanded services and parking at our post office. As this latest expansion moves forward, I want to thank Congresswoman Pryce for all her help in working with the many dedicated representatives of the US Postal Service.”

Representative Wolpert added, “One of the most frustrating things in our community has been the congestion hassle at the Hilliard post office. I am pleased that our Congresswoman Deborah Pryce has helped us improve our post office to address the growth Hilliard has experienced."
