Congressman Neil Abercrombie was honored at a rededication ceremony for the Susannah Wesley Community Center’s “Learning Center” in Kalihi on November 10, 2008. Abercrombie secured nearly $115,000 in federal funding that upgraded the Learning Center’s computer and information system to enhance an alternative high school diploma program for at-risk students. The upgrade is also enabling the center to reach out more aggressively to other residents of Kalihi-Palama and to offer a wider selection of classes.
