Rep. Abercrombie joins Brig. Gen. Steven Hummer, Commanding General of Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Thomas Henneberry, chief operating officer of Forest City Military Communities LLC and other dignitaries in a Hawaiian groundbreaking ceremony for new military housing. The first phase of a project includes 1,175 homes in 13 neighborhoods on the base. The innovative public-private partnership approach was enacted by Abercrombie and others in Congress, and has allowed military family housing and barracks to be upgraded, refurbished and new family housing constructed on bases across the country.
