Southern Guam Little League Recognized for Achievements in 2008 Little League Baseball World Series

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - November 3, 2008 – Washington, D.C.

On Sunday, November 2nd, Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo presented a statement printed in the Congressional Record to the Southern Guam Little League at the Outrigger Hotel in recognition of their accomplishments in the 2008 Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.  After winning the Asia-Pacific Region Championship, the Southern Guam Little League played three games against division champions from Italy, Mexico, and Curacao before ending their run at the Little League World Series Championship.

“The Southern Guam Little League represented Guam with pride,” Congresswoman Bordallo said. “I commend the players of the Southern Guam Little League for their dedication to the sport and their efforts in the face of stiff competition.  The team’s ethic of sportsmanship and hospitality brought special recognition to Guam at the Little League World Series.  I also commend the parents and coaches of the Southern Guam Little League for their leadership and support of the program.”
