Visiting Washington, D.C.

Photo of the Capitol Visiting Washington, D.C. can be an exciting and educational experience. As a courtesy to constituents, Congressman Skelton's Sedalia office can inquire about availability of tours for constituents for the U.S. Capitol and the White House. Most tour requests should be submitted several months in advance. Congressman Skelton cannot guarantee availability of any tours. To make your request, complete and submit a Tour Request Form or contact Congressman Skelton's Sedalia office.

The U.S. Capitol

General admission tickets for the U.S. Capitol are available Monday through Saturday on a first come, first serve basis. Timed tickets are distributed outside the Capitol beginning at 8:00 a.m., and tours are conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

To reserve tickets before arriving in Washington, D.C., please complete and submit a Tour Request Form.

The White House

Due to increased security procedures enacted since September 11, 2001, White House tours are extremely limited. Tour requests should be made up to six months in advance and requests are considered on a first come, first serve basis. Please note, the White House does not inform Congressional offices about the status of tour requests until two or three weeks prior to the requested tour date. To inquire about availability of tours for the White House, please complete and submit a Tour Request Form.
