Internships

Congressman Skelton standing with an intern Interning for a Member of Congress affords students with a unique prospective into how the federal government functions. Internships are a powerful educational experience that can benefit students during their academic careers and in whatever professional field they pursue.

Congressman Ike Skelton offers full-time, unpaid internships throughout the year in his Washington, D.C. office. Duties include attending legislative hearings, answering phones, running errands, and sorting mail.

Internship sessions are as follows:

Winter: January through May
Summer 1: June
Summer 2: July
Fall: September to December

Who is Eligible?
The internships are designed primarily for college and graduate students. Internships are not available for current high school students.
