On February 17, 2009, analog-only television sets that receive signals over the air, and not from cable or satellite, will need a digital-to-analog converter box to continue to receive free over-the-air television. 

Each household is allowed to obtain two $40 coupons to be used toward the purchase of converter boxes.  For more information about the coupon program or to obtain a $40 coupon, please visit the Converter Box Coupon Program web site or call the Program’s toll-free number at 1-888-388-2009.  People who are deaf or hard of hearing may call their toll-free number at 1-877-530-2634.
