ISSUES : AGRICULTURE
The 9th District of Pennsylvania continues to provide Pennsylvania, the United States, and the world with some of the finest produce, dairy, and specialty crops in the world. Agriculture is the heart of many of our communities and I am committed to ensuring that the farmers in our region can continue this tradition.
Congress must continue to protect the small farmer and create policies that encourage future generations to carry on the family farm; such as eliminating the Death Tax, which literally taxes the family farm right out of the family. Congress must reduce heavy regulatory burdens for farmers and work to prevent farms from becoming victims of frivolous environmental lawsuits, and encourage trade programs that benefit Pennsylvania products.
