FRANK RECEIVES TOP RATING FROM ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP
Congressman
Barney Frank said today that he was “very pleased” to learn that the
League of Conservation Voters (LCV) had given him a 100 percent rating
for his votes on 13 key issues that came before the House of
Representatives in 2008.
“I have long admired the work
that LCV does to analyze and report on legislation that has a
significant impact on the environment,” Frank said. “I appreciate
knowing that the organization agrees with my approach and my votes on
crucial issues like promoting renewable energy, encouraging green
building standards, and expanding sustainable agriculture. I look
forward to continuing to work with LCV, and with the many activists in
the communities I represent, as we continue to push for the adoption of
appropriate environmental policies.”
LCV issues an annual
Environmental Scorecard, which tracks the votes of U.S. Senators and
Representatives on a range of vital environmental issues. The
2008 scorecard was released today. The key votes identified by
LCV include tax credits for clean energy, standards for green building,
public transportation grants, appropriate rules for grazing on public
lands, designation of federal wilderness areas, reform of agricultural
subsidies, and funding for environmental programs.
