Tauscher:  Boehner's remarks offensive, misleading

Washington DC - Rep. Ellen Tauscher released the following statement today in response to comments made by Minority Leader John Boehner on Friday:

"Not only are John Boehner's comments offensive and in extremely poor taste, but they just go to show how little he understands the American people.  Republicans in Congress along with President Bush have stood in the way of any real energy reform for years, and now a small group of them are trying to pin their failures on Democrats by grandstanding when they should be working with us and Speaker Pelosi to lower gas prices and help American families.  There is no place in politics or civil society for that matter for this type of rhetoric and the Minority Leader should be ashamed.
