How Can I Help?

Inauguration Information

Thank you for contacting me regarding the presidential inauguration on January 20, 2009.  Each member of Congress is being allocated less than 200 reserved tickets by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies for the official swearing-in ceremony.  Currently, my office has received well over 1,500 requests for these tickets.  Therefore, due to such high demand, my office will no longer be taking requests for these tickets.

Please do not let the lack of a reserved ticket stop you from attending this historic event.  There will be numerous free public viewing areas along the National Mall for inauguration attendees who do not have reserved tickets.  Please check back here for more updates on exact locations and security information.

In addition, I will continue to work with the entire Arkansas Congressional Delegation and the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies on how to best accommodate the high demand.  Further information about the inaugural ceremony may be obtained at http://inaugural.senate.gov.

Please be aware that no website or other ticket outlet actually has inaugural swearing-in tickets to sell, regardless of what they may claim.  Tickets will not be distributed to Congressional offices until the week before the inauguration and will require in-person pick-up.

In the event that you are interested in attending the Inaugural Parade and/or the Inaugural Balls, please know that Congressional offices will not be given tickets to distribute for these events. The Inaugural Parade is coordinated by the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee. Additional information regarding the Inaugural Parade may be obtained at http://www.afic.northcom.mil/pic.html.  Inaugural Balls are coordinated by the Presidential Inaugural Committee and more details such as locations and times will be announced by the committee in the coming weeks.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call my office at 1.800.223.2220 or send me an e-mail.
