Ross, Lincoln, Pryor Announce Loan for Waldron

Washington  –  Representative Mike Ross (AR-04) along with U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor announced today that the city of Waldron will receive a $413,000 Rural Development loan from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).  The funds will be used to purchase the existing Waldron Rural Water Board, which will help Waldron trim its administrative costs by allowing the city to combine both its municipal and rural water utilities into one entity.

“I am proud to help announce this loan which will allow the city of Waldron to meet its growing needs as a community and better serve its rural residents,” said Ross.  “Ultimately, this federal loan will help Waldron streamline its utilities, cut its administrative costs, and allow it to invest more money back into the community for other needs.”

“These federal dollars will provide critical water improvements for the people of Waldron and help the city make more efficient use of its resources,” said Lincoln.  “I remain committed to ensuring that Arkansas receives the funding and support we need to keep our state strong.”

“This loan is a win-win investment for Waldron utilities and residents,” said Pryor. “The city sets an excellent example by proactively cutting unnecessary costs and consolidating valuable resources.”

USDA Rural Development administers the water and wastewater loan and grants program to improve the quality of life and promote economic development in rural America.
