Information about Inauguration Day

Washington, DC  November 7, 2008 – Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States on January 20, 2009, in Washington, DC.

Information about Inauguration Day events can be found on the web at http://inaugural.senate.gov/index.cfm.

Tickets for the Inaugural swearing-in ceremony will be distributed to constituents in January 2009 by Senators and Representatives of the 111th Congress.

Due to the high volume of requests for inaugural tickets, Congressman Doyle’s office has closed its waiting list effective Wednesday, November 12, 2008.

Congressman Doyle’s office will notify people who will receive tickets as early as possible in January.  Tickets must be picked up in person in Congressman Doyle's Washington, DC, office on January 19.

The public should also be aware that no website or other ticket outlet actually has inaugural swearing-in tickets to sell, regardless of what they may claim.  Tickets will not be distributed to anyone until the week before the inauguration.
