As the senior Northern Californian on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I am working to secure investments to repair California’s infrastructure and reduce congestion. I am proud to have delivered more than $119 million in transportation dollars to improve roads and expand transit options in the East Bay and Solano County.  Today, Californians encounter the worst traffic in the nation. Congestion prevents us from spending quality time with our families, hurts the economy by slowing the movement of goods, and adds to global warming. I have used my seat on the Transportation Committee to take a fresh look at the federal government’s investment in our transportation infrastructure. An increased investment at every level of government is necessary to repair our crumbling infrastructure and prepare for increased demand in the years ahead.
