National Security and Foreign Affairs |
As the Chairman of an Armed Services Subcommittee, I am committed
to investing in the capabilities that will protect our country and provide our
men and women in uniform with the best training and equipment to meet today’s
evolving threats and missions. I have worked hard to make sure that our nation
addresses the dangers posed by weapons of mass destruction, gives our military
sufficient time to rest and train between deployments, and provides the
benefits and respect our troops were promised. As a longtime member of the
NATO Parliamentary Assembly, I believe that working with our allies is a vital
way to advance America’s global interests. America has always been
strongest when our foreign policy makes use of all of our great nation’s
strengths -- diplomatic, economic, cultural and military -- and works with our
allies to solve global problems before they turn into crises.
