Congress has a responsibility to enact legislation to protect threatened and endangered species and to prevent animal abuse. Based on my work to support legislation like the Animal Welfare Act, the Pet Safety Act, and the Horse Slaughter Prevention Act, I have been earned a 100 percent approval rating from the American Humane Society.  I also work to protect threatened animals through my advocacy for the Endangered Species Act and the Multinational Species Conservation Fund.
