Washington, DC – Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher issued the following statement regarding the failure of the House to pass H.R. 3997, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008.  Rep. Tauscher voted for the measure.  Below is her statement: 

“I am angry and frustrated that Congress had to consider this rescue plan in the first place.  We should have never gotten to this point.  But it is more important how we move forward to deal with this crisis.  I will continue to work to protect Main Street and bring greater oversight to Wall Street.”
