Service Academy Nominations

The nomination process
As a Congressman, I have the privilege to nominate talented young men and women from North Carolina's Second Congressional District to the nation's service academies.  All students who are interested in these opportunities should write to me during their junior year of high school to request a nomination.

Please send all letters to my Raleigh District Office located at 333 Fayetteville Street, Suite 505, Raleigh, NC 27601.  In response to each nomination letter, I will send a packet of information listing the materials necessary to complete the nomination application.  These materials must be returned to my Raleigh office by December 1 of the student's senior year.  In addition to contacting me, each student must also apply directly to the academy they wish to attend to be considered for a nomination.

Who is eligible
Please not that all candidates applying for a nomination must be a U.S. citizen and a legal resident of the Second Congressional District of North Carolina.  They must also be at least 17 years of age and not pass their 22nd birthday on July 1 of the year of admission to the academy.
