The City of Englewood, with a
population of approximately 26,000, is home to a diverse range of ethnic groups,
religions and cultures. Congressman Rothman was born there and was proud to have served as Mayor of
Englewood from 1983 to 1989, during which time he earned a reputation as an effective and fiscally responsible leader.
Many distinguished
individuals hail from Englewood, including the world famous Jazz musician Dizzy Gillespie, after whom
a downtown area is known. The ever-expanding Englewood
Hospital and Medical Center
is also a key feature of the area.
