The marriage calculator provides information on the financial implications of marriage for low-income couples. It applies federal and state-specific tax and transfer rules so couples can find out what their net income would be if they live apart, marry or cohabit. While some couples would increase their net income from marrying, others would face financial penalties. The calculator provides a tool to make these consequences transparent.
November is National Adoption Month. There are thousands of children and young adults in foster care waiting for eligible parents to provide them with a permanent, safe and loving home. During this month, we must acknowledge the loving and caring families that have opened their hearts and homes as well as the dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to find families for these children. ACF is committed to promoting adoption for the children and youth waiting in foster care. To learn more about adoption visit our AdoptUsKids website at: www.adoptuskids.org.
