Congressman Rothman Congratulates Sharon Kim of Fort Lee, Winner of the Annual Peace Essay Contest
 (Washington, DC)— On Thursday, June 26, 2008, Congressman Steve Rothman (D-NJ) congratulated Sharon Kim of Fort Lee on her first place win in the state-wide New Jersey competition of the 21st annual National Peace Essay Contest. The National Peace Essay Contest is sponsored by the United States Institute of Peace.
Sharon's winning essay, titled "Water Crisis", explored the relationship between natural resources and international conflict. Sharon received $1,000 for her extraordinary accomplishment, and attended a week-long seminar on conflict resolution in Washington, DC. A graduate of Bergen County Academies, Sharon will attend Harvard University in Massachusetts this fall.
