Job Summary

Incumbent serves as media logistics coordinator and is responsible for delivering a variety of services to members of Congress and broadcast personnel.

These services include providing legislative information and assisting in arrangement of all types of media events.
- Maintains contact with committee staff regarding schedule and legislative information.
- Disseminates information to members and media.
- Creates chamber log.
- Arranges hearing coverage and provides on site support.
- Assists in legislative file maintenance.
- Maintains press secretary database.
- Monitors studios.
- Arranges special events and provides on site support.
- Uses computer to access various types of information and create various documents.
- Assists in scheduling of Gallery studios and media sites.
- Assists Director periodically with planning and implementation of national political convention.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Knowledge of legislative process, broadcasting technology and Communications.  Computer skills in Word, Word Perfect, Act, File Maker, html, and other software as needed.  One to three years of news gathering or Capitol Hill experience.  Experience working in a fast paced environment and under deadlines.  A willingness to work the long and irregular hours when the House is in session—including evening and weekend hours when required.
