Saving the Meadowlands PDF Print E-mail
"The vision of those who saved the wetlands has always been of an oasis of beauty and calm in one of the most densely populated, heavily trafficked and overdeveloped areas of the country. But they also had something else in mind: what restoring the wetlands would do for us. It would give us pride in knowing that the pollution and greed-the dark side of this state-could be defeated and the right thing could be done." - The Metamorphosis in the Meadowlands

One of Congressman Rothman's top priorities has been protecting and preserving the last parcels of open space left in the Hackensack Meadowlands. He believes the remaining wetlands in the Meadowlands-home to hundreds of species of fish, birds, and other wildlife, should be protected and eventually turned into an environmental park for all to enjoy. You can read more about his efforts below.
