Congressman
Rothman has worked tirelessly on many fronts to improve the quality of life for
all the residents of the Ninth District. He has been the leader in the fight against
aircraft noise and pollution at Teterboro Airport, securing a ban on the noisiest
planes at the airport as well as a ban on large
corporate jets.
Rothman's
leadership against aircraft noise has been well-noticed, with the Leader Newspaper
writing, "Lots of political muscle is behind the cause, but Congressman Steve
Rothman is proving to be the MVP."

Teterboro

In February 2008, Rep. Rothman received the final results of an air safety study

become. The
study shows that those who live around Teterboro Airport breathe

more studies are needed to determine the extent of the problem, the fact that
there is a measurable impact at all is cause for concern. Read more
Historic Agreement on Teterboro Airport Operations
In October 2006,Congressman
Rothman announced an historic agreement designed to make Teterboro Airport (TEB)
a better, safer and quieter neighbor for the people of northern New Jersey. The
agreement will ultimately eliminate the loudest jets at the airport, create a
curfew on flights between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am, keep heavy planes from ever operating
at the airport, and improve safety and security. Pictured, the Congressman signs the Teterboro Airport Industry Working Group's Pledge to the Community. Read more about the Working Group's pledge
