I’m proud to be from a state that has long been at the forefront of technological innovation, like the first powered flight. North Carolina’s future rests on creating better technologies that will help provide safer jobs, a cleaner environment and a better future for our children. We need a technology infrastructure with high-speed Internet access, especially in rural areas, to entice businesses which will, in turn, create jobs. We need to train our young people in those technology skills. We must invest in educating today for tomorrow’s technology, all the while creating the infrastructure to make North Carolina attractive to more biotechnology and other high technology firms.
