Issues & Legislation
  Issue - Judicial

I support the nomination and confirmation of federal judges who adhere to constitutional principles, not judicial activists who legislate from the bench. Judges interpret and apply the laws that govern our nation, including our fundamental rights and liberties protected in the Constitution.

Lengthy delays in the judicial nomination and confirmation process weaken the federal judiciary – depriving it of the judges needed to resolve disputes expediently and contributing to overcrowded dockets, overburdened judges and understaffed courts. Every President deserves to have his judicial nominees voted on, and not filibustered away. Every Senator has a responsibility to exercise his or her constitutional duty to advise and consent on the judicial nominees of the President. And every judicial nominee deserves an up-or-down vote on the Senate floor.
