I support increased federal funding to repair North Carolina’s ailing transportation infrastructure and I have cosponsored legislation to bring more federal gasoline tax dollars back into our state. As a member of the Senate Banking Committee, I am exploring ways to bring mass transit options to North Carolina that will help ease commuting issues and bring environmental benefits. And improving our infrastructure directly translates into more and better jobs for our citizens.
Senator Dole was in Charlotte to celebrate the funding of the Light Rail project.
