Transportation Issues
As the population of the Inland Empire continues to grow at a rapid rate, transportation is critical to the success and vitality of our community. Congressman Baca has fought for funding in the Inland Empire by submitting billions of dollars in requests for annual appropriations as well as the high priority highway projects in the Reauthorization of TEA-21. He has testified numerous times in front of Congressional Committees justifying the Inland Empire's desperate need for federal funding. He supports a safer and better infrastructure system to accommodate the growing community - one that allows emergency vehicles to pass freely and enables commuters to reduce their travel time on the route to work.
Because of the unique needs of the Inland Empire, our transportation infrastructure must continue to grow. With a University, two airports, and a major goods movement corridor housed within our district, we deserve to have federal funding supporting our highways and high priority projects. Whether it is funding for the I-10, the I-215, or Omnitrans, the movement of the Inland Empire is among the highest priority for the Congressman. That is why Congressman Baca continues to fight for transportation funding and policies that benefit the Inland Empire, like preventing the elimination of the Alameda Corridor East and encouraging the development of a magnetic levitation commuter train from the Los Angeles region to Ontario Airport and San Bernardino.
