WASHINGTON, DC— “I’m pleased the President finally recognized the jobs crisis in America.  It is critical that we support those who are looking for work during these tough economic times.  This is an important step towards stabilizing our economy, but it’s not the last.  Congress must act in the upcoming months to provide an economic stimulus package that will create jobs, provide real tax relief to middle-income Americans, and invest in our nation’s aging transportation infrastructure.”

Clyburn Re-elected Majority Whip for 111th Congress

WASHINGTON, DC—House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn today was reelected by the House Democratic Caucus to serve as Majority Whip for the 111th Congress.  Clyburn will remain the highest ranking African American in Congress and the second African American to be elected to Majority Whip.  Members of the 111th Congress will be sworn in on January 6, 2009.
