Charleston Resident Interns in Congressman Rahall's DC Office

U.S. Representative Nick Rahall (D-WV) recently expressed his appreciation for Christopher Lyndon Eddy of Charleston on the completion of an eight week congressional internship in his Washington, DC office.

“Christopher is a dedicated, hard-working individual with a promising future ahead of him,” said Rahall.  “His presence in our office has been greatly valued and greatly contributed to my office and to the people of southern West Virginia.”

Eddy is currently studying Political Science and International Studies at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  As a Carolina Covenant Scholar, he has taken a keen interest in international affairs and has recently returned to the United States after studying the French language and political system at La Sorbonne in Paris, France.  While at Carolina, Eddy is engaged in the UNC Young Democrats and Amnesty International and regularly dedicates his time to community service.

Following the completion of his undergraduate degree in May 2009, Eddy plans to attend law school and pursue a career in either public service or diplomacy.  While on Capitol Hill, Eddy has assisted Congressman Rahall and his staff by doing research via attending congressional hearings on critical issues facing all Americans such as education and alternative energy, as well as by helping with constituent correspondence.

“Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to Congressman Rahall for this very exciting and educational opportunity,” said Eddy.  “It has always been a dream of mine to come work on Capitol Hill so that I could acquire a better understanding of the processes of the Congress and how it relates back to my family and community.  For the time I was here, I believe I have learned as much as possible and it is my hope that this insight will continue to aid me as I pursue my goals of service to my community and nation.”

Christopher is the son of Gary Eddy of Huntington and Kathy Eddy of Charleston.  He is also the grandson of State Senator Robert K. Holliday of Fayetteville, former owner of the Fayette Tribune and Montgomery Herald newspapers, and the nephew of current Fayette County Clerk Kelvin Holliday of Oak Hill.
