Rahall Announces $64,600 DHS Grant For Pipestem Volunteer Fire Department

U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall (D-WV) announced today that a $64,600 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grant has been awarded to the Pipestem Volunteer Fire Department for the acquisition of a brush fire truck.

"Our firefighters are on the frontlines protecting our communities and families every day," said Rahall. "This funding will help ensure that these brave men and women have the critical equipment they need to protect the homes and businesses in our communities."

This funding comes from the DHS' Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program, which has been providing funding to fire departments and other first responders since 2004. Grants through the AFG program are awarded to first-responder organizations for the purchase of response equipment, personal protective equipment, and vehicles.
