Rahall Announces Funding for Cowen Police Department

U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall (D-WV) announced today that the Town of Cowen in Webster County has been awarded $1,800 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to purchase new law enforcement and warning equipment for police cruisers.

"Southern West Virginia's law enforcement officials are on the frontlines protecting our communities every day," said Rahall.  "This funding will help ensure that local authorities have the most up-to-date support equipment they need to keep our homes and families safe."

These funds will allow the Town of Cowen Police Department to purchase and install computer upgrades and security shields for the town's two police cruisers.

"In the event of an emergency, this new equipment will greatly aid the ability of local law enforcement to provide more timely and effective assistance to residents of Cowen and Webster County," said Rahall.
