Rahall Announces $100K for Ronceverte Island Park Renovations

U.S. Rep. Nick J. Rahall (D-WV) announced today that the City of Ronceverte has been awarded $100,000 from the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) for renovations to Island Park in Ronceverte, Greenbrier County.

This funding will allow the City of Ronceverte to make accessibility improvements to the park’s amphitheater, sidewalks, and trails, as well as electrical improvements to the concession stand and ballfield lights.  The City also hopes to renovate the park’s swimming pool, create a skateboard arena, and resurface the basketball and tennis courts.

As Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, Rahall oversees the LWCF, which provides matching funds to local communities for the development and conservation of parks and open space.
