Statement of Rep. Nick Rahall on the Passing of Joan C. Edwards

U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall (D-WV) issued the following statement on the passing of Joan C. Edwards.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the Edwards family and the entire Huntington community. We have lost a true friend of West Virginia in Joan C. Edwards.

"I had the opportunity to last see and talk with Mrs. Edwards at the dedication of the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital. I admire her strength of spirit in the face of illness, with her dedication, her passion and her generosity.

"The memory of Mrs. Edwards will live on in my heart and in the hearts of all of those fortunate enough to have met this remarkable woman, just as her legacy and that of her husband James will live on through their immeasurable contributions to Marshall University and Huntington."
