Statement of Rep. Nick Rahall on POW/MIA Recognition Day
09/15/06U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall (D-WV) issued the following statement today in honor of POW/MIA Recognition Day.
"Today, our Nation takes pause to remember and honor the thousands of Americans who endured prison confinement during time of war, and those whose fate is still unknown. May the POW-MIA flags flying from federal, state and local government buildings today serve as a somber reminder to all Americans of the sacrifices our brave men and women in uniform made in defense of our freedoms."
It was a great honor for me to support legislation that established this special day, and I remain steadfast in my commitment to these brave men and women, and will continue to do whatever it takes to bring them home. God bless them, their families and God bless America."
