Each year I nominate qualified graduating high school seniors from the 12th Congressional District for appointment to the U.S. Military, Naval, Air Force and Merchant Marine Academies. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a nomination. Each Congressional office has his or her method for selecting nominees. My congressional office uses the Principal with Numbered Alternatives method.
Each applicant for a nomination must meet the following basic eligibility requirements by July 1st of the year you seek admission to an academy:
- Must be a United States citizen
- Must be unmarried
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 23
- Must have no legal obligations to support children or other dependents.
