NOVEMBER 17, 2008: UDALL STATEMENT ON EMILIO NARANJO | Print |
Congressman Says Naranjo Will Be Remember for His Strength and Kindness

WASHINGTON—U.S. Representative Tom Udall, D-N.M., today released the following statement regarding the death of Emilio Naranjo:

“Emilio Naranjo will be remembered for his strength and his kindness.  Even as he negotiated with Senators and collaborated with presidents, he never forgot his roots in small-town Northern New Mexico.  He never forgot the people who helped him build his incredible career or the ideals that got him into politics in the first place.

“Naranjo exemplified the values that make Northern New Mexico great: love of family, loyalty to friends and commitment to fighting for the underdog.  He will be missed by his large and devoted family and by all of the many New Mexicans whose lives he touched.  My thoughts are with the Naranjo family in this sad time.”
