Internship Information Print

The Washington, D.C. office offers both semester and summer internships.

Qualifications:

  • The intern must be a Texan with a permanent home in the 13th Congressional District or in the state of Texas.
  • The intern should have completed at least one year of college prior to beginning the internship program. 
  • The intern must submit an application for the position.


Selection Process:

Applications for the Fall internship program will be accepted in the Washington, D.C. office through May 1, for the Spring internship through November 1, and for the Summer internship through March 15. These dates are selected so that the intern can have ample time to secure adequate housing for the internship period after being selected.

Program:

The program will offer the intern the opportunity to learn how a congressional office works. The intern will work with the administrative, legislative, and communication branches of the office. The intern will also experience the many unique opportunities Washington, D.C. has to offer.

Washington experience could include:

Touring and visiting monuments, galleries, and other sites around the city.
