One of the privileges Mac Thornberry has as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives is to make nominations to the Nation's Military Academies.

Mac can submit nominations to each of the Academies on behalf of people who live or whose residence of record is in the 13th Congressional District of Texas.  The Academies he can nominate to include: 

The United States Military Academy at West Point	The United States Naval Academy	The United States Air Force Academy	The United States Merchant Marine Academy

Mac holds Academy Forums every spring in Amarillo and Wichita Falls for interested students.
