Visiting DC

My office is happy to assist you plan your trip to our nation’s capital. Washington, D.C. offers a wonderful variety of museums, monuments and federal agencies. To help you make the most of your visit, we encourage you to visit the House Visitors Guide to Washington, DC.


Scheduling Tours

With advance notice, I am happy to schedule tours of the Capitol, and selected federal agencies and D.C. attractions for constituents. I also encourage residents of New York's First District to stop by my office to pick up House Gallery passes at any time.

Please keep in mind that tours are scheduled on a “first come, first served” basis. Kindly make requests for Capitol at least one month in advance, and please see the chart below for other tour request guidelines. We will do our best to accommodate your requests, though we cannot guarantee the availability of any tours.

*Please note that the White House requires additional security information, which my staff will contact you to request.

The White House

Self-guided tours conducted Tuesday through Saturday, from 7:30am-12:30pm.

Requests should be made at least four weeks in advance but four to six months is recommended.

The U.S. Capitol Building

My office conducts staff-led tours Monday through Friday.

Capitol Guide Service conducts tours Monday-Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.  Timed entry passes are need and can be acquired from a ticket kiosk at the corner of First Street, SW and Independence Avenue, SW.

At least two weeks for groups under 15 and at least one month in advance for larger groups.

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing

Tickets not required September through February

Free tickets required March through August.  Tickets can be acquired from the Bureau's ticket booth at Raoul Wallenberg Place beginninag at 8:00am.  Lines can form early.

Congressional tours are available but limited.  Requests should be made at least four weeks in advance.

The Library of Congress

Tours available Monday through Saturday.

Congressional tours are available but limited.

Requests should be made at least four weeks in advance.

The Kennedy Center

Free tours are given 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday; 10:00am to 1:00pm Saturday and Sunday.

Congressional tours given 9:30am and 4:30pm Monday-Friday; 9:30am on weekends.

Requests should be made at least two weeks in advance.
