Nominees are selected competitively.

All applicants must be at least 17 years of age and not yet 23 on July 1st of the year of admission.

Candidates are encouraged to contact as many sources as possible to seek a nomination.

Candidates seeking a nomination from this office must be a US citizen, and must have legal residence within the First District of Oklahoma to be considered for a nomination.

Candidates must qualify medically and academically. Each academy will inform candidates of its requirements for the medical examination and physical aptitude test.

Students who wish to apply for a nomination to one of the United States Service Academies must call or send a letter to my Tulsa office expressing interest and/or requesting an application to the United States Service Academy.

All candidates should request a pre-candidate questionnaire from the Academy or Academies of their choice. Academy admissions offices may eliminate from further consideration those candidates who do not meet minimum academic requirements.

Applicants must submit the following to my Tulsa, OK office on or before the first FRIDAY in November:

1. A completed application form (secured from my Tulsa District office)

2. A high school transcript through and including the junior year (the transcript should include a listing of class rank and grade point average)

3. A copy of SAT and/or ACT scores must be submitted to my Tulsa District office before October 31st of the student's senior year

4. Three letters of recommendation (one from a high school official and two other adults not related to the student)

5. A recent photo.

An Academy panel will convene during the month of November or early December to evaluate applicants.

Please contact my office if there are any questions or concerns during the application process.

The deadline for receiving your application, College Board scores, high school transcripts, and letters of recommendation is the first Friday in November. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that all information is sent and postmarked no later than that date in order to assure that your application will be considered.
