An American flag flown over the United States Capitol is a very special way to honor a friend or loved one to commemorate one of life’s milestones, such as a birthday, Eagle Scout Court of Honor, graduation, wedding, anniversary, or retirement.

My office can arrange the purchase of a United States flag that will be flown over the U.S. Capitol.  A Certificate of Authenticity from the Architect of the Capitol is provided with the flag verifying the date on which it was flown and, if requested, the individual or organization and/or occasion for which it was flown.

Important:  You must be a resident of the 7th District of Wisconsin to receive this service from my office.  Also, bulk orders for flag purchases cannot be processed.

Flag Sizes and Materials

American flags are available in three sizes and two fabrics:

• 3 x 5 (Available in both nylon and cotton)
• 4 x 6 (Available only in nylon)
• 5 x 8 (Available in nylon and cotton)  

Flag Pricing

The price of a commemorative flag flown over the U.S. Capitol includes the cost of the flag, priority mail shipping charge, and a flag fee charged by the Architect of the Capitol to cover its processing cost. 

If you do not wish to have the flag flown over the Capitol, the price will include the cost of the flag and priority mail shipping charge.

Ordering a Flag

Please fill out and print a flag order form or contact my office to request a flag order form to be mailed to you.  Return the completed form with a check or money order, made payable to House Stationary Account WI0781, to my Wausau office:

Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing and delivery.

If requesting a flag to be flown over the Capitol on a specific date, we must receive your order a minimum of two weeks prior to the requested date to assure that the flag will be flown on the date you desire.
