June 18, 2008: Reynolds Starts Accepting Academy Nomination Applications

Today, U.S. Representative Thomas M. Reynolds announced that he will begin accepting applications for nomination to the U.S. Service Academies.  Each year members of Congress nominate a limited number of candidates to the U.S. Military, Naval, Coast Guard, Air Force, and Merchant Marine academies.  These academies require a Congressional nomination as part of the application process.  Reynolds will be accepting nominations from students who have recently completed their junior year of high school.

"Our nation's service academies have a long and well-deserved reputation for excellence," Reynolds said.  "I strongly encourage each and every interested student to take a good look at all that they offer."

To receive a nomination from Congressman Reynolds students must complete a thorough application and appear before Reynolds' Service Academy Nomination Review Board.  The board consists of residents from the district who interview and grade students for appointments to the various Service Academies. Please visit Reynolds website at www.reynolds.house.gov/academy to download a copy of the application.  The completed application and all related paperwork must be in Reynolds Williamsville Office 500 Essjay Road, Suite 260 Williamsville, NY 14221 no later than November 1, 2008.

"Every year we have outstanding Western New York students that apply for our Service Academies," said Reynolds.  "I am looking forward to reviewing these applications as our students represent some of our communities best and brightest and will make excellent members of our academies."
